Cast iron beds of every shape and size. Our showroom is stocked with single/twin size bed frames ranging from 30” wide (also called
a nun’s bed) through to 42” wide. Some are also suitable for conversion into day beds. There were far fewer single beds made so
they are becoming scarcer with time. We offer several matched pairs or nearly identical pairs as well.
Our double beds, sometimes called full-size beds, at 54” wide, were the largest beds made at the turn of the century. Prior to that,
three-quarter sized beds, at 48”, were the widest. We have a very large selection of beds that have been restored with sandblasting
and a baked on powder-paint finish. For those looking for something a bit different, the unrestored beds may be something to consider
if you are looking for something more rustic, shabby or cottage chic.
Through skillful workmanship, some of our double beds have been ‘stretched’ into queen and king-size. If you see an unrestored double
bed you would like to have converted, contact us and we will determine if it is possible. Unfortunately, some of the fancier beds
with elaborate scrollwork are not amenable to conversion.
Lots of headboards are also available. These would bolt onto a standard bed frame.
Modern day mattresses are a few inches longer than before. To accommodate this, we lengthen all side rails to fit today’s mattresses.
We also provide cross supports which span the rails to hold up your mattress.
