Can I Really Use a Queen Mattress on a Full Double Bedframe?
The only thing holding you back from using a queen size mattress
Cast iron beds of every shape and size. Our showroom is stocked with single/twin size bed frames ranging from 30” wide (also called a nun’s bed) through to 42” wide. Some are also suitable for conversion into day beds. There were far fewer single beds made so they are becoming scarcer with time. We offer several matched pairs or nearly identical pairs as well.

As much as possible, we like to keep the original brass on the bed. Many decades of just dusting, not polishing, have let the brass develop a beautiful patina. If you want, you can polish it back to its original shiny finish. Of course, many of our beds have no brass whatsoever so this is not a consideration.
Modern day brass is lacquered to maintain the brilliance of the brass without the need to polish.

It’s not every day that we can take part in the preservation of history. Our collections of beds come from iron foundries large and small representing Canada, the United States and Great Britain. Some are production beds which would have been sold through the most popular shopping catalogs and department stores of the day; others are unique works of art either custom-made or limited in number.
I hope you enjoy your journey back in time as you scroll through images of these timeless cast iron beds.
